As the date of an important anniversary that changed the history of the Western World is approaching our calendar, and as time might have given us a better perspective of our posssible role in the world, let me suggest that something heals our souls every time we approach a different culture and we try to understand it from within.  We don’t need to forgive as much as we need to understand.  In fact, hardly is it a matter of resilience, as much as it is a matter of inner renaissance.  In the small yard of our Club, in spite of so many bad news on our nation’s financial department, we managed to schedule great events, party till the wee hours, taste amazing food, get in the pool and have fun.  Are we ignoring the status quo?  Of course, not. But are we able to raise above it?  You bet.  The last event at Mike Salvo was as sensational as expected.  Mike prepared incredible food, and the weather was fair. A broken air conditioning forced everyone into the pool where the party continued past 2:00 a.m.   Marty provided some rock tunes, while our girls and boys showed off their trim bodies…  We hope you enjoy our events as much as we do creating them for you.  It takes tremendous effort to produce Ciancia.  So, wherever the tail of this summer may take you, don’t forget to support us.  And, don’t forget to visit our Ciancia Facebook page and be our friend.  AGP

OUR LANGUAGE PLEDGE
We are reminded by some of our long-established members that we must return to our core mission, which is to speak Italian at the meetings.  Even if you are not fluent, a new member, or still learning, please, make an effort to speak Italian, for other languages truly defeat the main purpose of our meetings.   We can hear you speaking Spanish… There are fabulous clubs in Atlanta where you may speak any language you fancy. When you come to Ciancia, please, help us maintaining our tradition.

OUR NEXT EVENTS
Our next regular September meeting bears the taste of a true Ciancia underground discovery, one of those we are so famous for.  Attention, due to prior engagements of our host, it takes place next Friday!  Our host, Massimiliano Gallinoni, is a passionate chef.  You might have met him before, as he recently catered our Festa della Repubblica at the MoDA. What you may not know is that he has transformed his residence into a fully-equipped restaurant, and that his underground venue has been coveted by foodies and cuisine lovers around town.  You don’t want to miss this one, folks.  It will be Ciancia at its best.  Look for details and directions on our Next Meeting page. Yet, we have yet another Italian event to go, before we close this busy season.  This one is called: a taste of Italy.  Look for details and directions on our Next Meeting page.  Our traditional Tuesday evening tradition will resume in October.

OUR WINE POLICY
Bringing food or wine to our events is not required.  There is plenty to eat and drink, even if you come empty handed.  Our $10 door fee covers our running expenses and it is a nominal price to pay for the entertainment and limitless bounty we offer to our members.  Please, don’t feel obligated to buy anything.   However, if you decide to cook, or purchase a bottle of wine, in an effort to keep Ciancia focused on the national heritage of Italy and to increase awareness of its incredible variety of regional products, we inform you that we accept only bottles of Italian wine at the door.  Please, refrain from varieties of other nationalities.  Once again, bringing wine or food to our meetings is optional. Special rules may apply to each event, especially those held at restaurants.  Make sure you read them each time! As usual with our club tradition, drink responsibly and keep our streets safe!
